ABOUT MY INSTAGRAM:
I have an Estonian passport and a Japanese residence card. In 2023, I received a bachelor's degree in cross-media in film and television. My second education is a stylist and designer. And Instagram is a kind of working tool for me. Although I do not earn money directly on the platform, it was not only a gathering of friends and relatives, but also important contacts, as well as an audience for a project at the intersection of fashion and media, which I was going to do in Japan.
The history of my account deletions coincided exactly with my move from Estonia to my husband's homeland, Japan, at the end of 2024. Moving from country to country is already a very difficult time in life. The stress of moving was added to the stress of Instagram. Since I moved, my Instagram accounts have been deleted. First, the main one, xenny_rozen, was disabled on November 25 for “violating the integrity of the account”. About 3 weeks later, it was restored with an apology after I passed meta-verification on FB and an additional Instagram account and sent Meta photos of all the documents I had, Estonian and Japanese.
After the restoration, I passed meta-verification on the main account as well.
But in February, my FB account and additional account xr___creative were deleted again. For “fraud and deception”. And I waited a month again and wrote letters to Meta from the main account. The accounts were restored, again with an apology.
I provided meta-verification for all three and paid for a subscription of 16.99 euros per month for each.
But a month later, something completely strange began. The xr___creative account started deleting and demanding to send a selfie literally every day. It was immediately unblocked by a selfie and a few hours later disappeared again along with the FB account.
A solid recovery came at the beginning of May. And I already thought that everything was behind me. And I continued to pay for three meta-verifications.
And suddenly now on July 5, 2025, my meta-verified main Instagram xenny_rozen with 175 thousand subscribers was deleted again. It was deleted without explanation and without the right to appeal. I simply received a message in the application itself “your account violates the community rules (not specified - which), log out of the account”. There was not even a link to download all the information that, according to all laws, they are obliged to provide me, even if they kick me out of the platform forever.
The account disappeared, I again submitted requests to the support service on FB and an additional account. I received answers “we are working on your problem” .. five days have passed since then, the situation has not changed.
As I wrote above, I don't make money on Instagram, but it is very important to me. All my friends and years of life are there. Also, data about it is submitted to two modeling agencies in Tokyo for possible influencer work. In addition, immediately before deleting the account, I registered for the press for the Tranoi Tokyo exhibition, and I am waiting for confirmation of registration for Tokyo Fashion Week. In both cases, my Instagram was listed as a media outlet where reports were supposed to be published! And now it is gone, and this is damaging my career from the very beginning and my reputation as well. Instagram is an important part of my life, but also my portfolio, and I have always tried to treat it carefully and follow the rules. Perhaps my activity in the application increased when I moved - I only have a husband in Tokyo, and I want to communicate with friends and just with different people. Perhaps they might have found the sudden change of location suspicious. Perhaps the situation can be affected by the fact that all my subscriptions are paid with Apple ID, and our entire family's Apple ID (mom, dad, grandma, me) has long been linked to one credit card and my mother's name is on it. I could change anything. But Meta does not explain anything.
22.07.25, Meta support service closed the request and did not help in any way. We continue to fight through Facebook support service.
If necessary, in the future we will also turn to small claims court.
At the moment, on September 7th, I started looking for a lawyer in Japan to resolve the issue in court.
UPD 11/09/2025 Japanese lawyers have requested the equivalent of 1,000 euros. For trying to get Instagram back without a guarantee against future problems. Knowing how unreliable the situation is in Meta now, we will not invest such a sum in a platform that has not been profitable.
In a further attempt to resolve the matter, we lodged a complaint with the DPC: https://www.dataprotection.ie/en
The complaint has been accepted 11/09/2025 and will be reviewed within 20 days.
The Data Protection Commission refused to help and redirected me to Tokyo. And while chatting with meta support, it suddenly became clear that the email address listed in their database for my account wasn't mine at all, a completely unfamiliar one:

Apparently, I do need to consult a lawyer. The matter is complicated by the fact that my visa in Japan is valid until October 25th. The extension documents have been submitted, and I'll decide which country's court to go to immediately after I receive a ruling on where I'll live next—still in Japan or back home in Estonia.
On November 14, 2025, a demand letter was sent to Meta through the law firm JusticeDirect. If Meta ignores the letter, it will file a small claims lawsuit for damages.
It looks like I really need legal advice. The situation is complicated by the fact that my Japanese visa is valid until October 25. The renewal documents have been submitted, and I will decide which domestic court to appeal to immediately after receiving the decision on where I will live next—in Japan or back home in Estonia.

Meta did not respond to the letter, and on January 1st, a lawsuit was filed through the European Small Claims Procedure in the Irish court. On January 23, 2026, the claim was accepted for hearing, and the 25 euro court fee was paid. Then, on February 5, 2026, my account suddenly returned without warning, and I can use it again. For how long? I don't know. The judge decided not to dismiss my case for now and to wait for official confirmation from the Meta.
